Dr. Blossom

I was born and raised on an acreage in the Fraser Valley of BC, where I developed a love for animals at an early age, milking the family goats, watching my mom's couple of sheep have their lambs every spring, and owning a small flock of chickens and a horse in my teenage years. After high school, I started working on a dairy farm, and the barn soon became my happy place as I learned about farming, cow health and herd management. Dairy farming became a passion for me, and I continued to work on dairy farms while I completed my Bachelor of Science degree at the University of the Fraser Valley in 2018 before moving two provinces over to attend the Western College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Saskatchewan, where I graduated in 2022. Following graduation, I attended the Summer Dairy Institute at Cornell University, a specialized training program for new dairy veterinarians.

My original plan was to work exclusively with dairy cattle; however, my close relationship with my very special dog Jax allowed me to experience personally the strength of the human-animal bond and just how important and beneficial that relationship can be. I decided I wanted to be involved in those relationships as a veterinarian for other people and their pets as well, and I love variety in my life, so becoming a mixed animal veterinarian was ideal for me. I really enjoy working with producers to keep their herds healthy, happy, productive and profitable. I also love working with people and their pets, which is very different from farm work but equally rewarding! I truly believe that learning is a lifelong venture and look forward to all that I will continue to learn along the way.
When I'm not working, I enjoy traveling, hiking, cycling, martial arts, board games, and playing the piano and violin. Since I'm new to the province, I'm looking forward to exploring the area and meeting all of you!
